SACD
ⓘ Super Audio CD (SACD) is an optical disc format which allows multichannel surround sound and provides a higher bit rate than a conventional CD. There are two types of SACD:
-
An SACD disc with one or more Direct Stream Digital (DSD) layers, designed to play on an SACD player only
-
A hybrid SACD containing an additional Compact Disc Digital Audio (CDDA) layer that can be played on any standard CD player
This SACD does not include a conventional CDDA layer and can only be played on an SACD compatible player.
