'Rain Dances' is the fifth album from prog rock band Camel, originally released in 1977. It saw a major change to the band's line-up, replacing bassist Doug Ferguson with ex-Caravan member Richard Sinclair, and adding saxophonist Mel Collins, formerly of King Crimson. Includes a feature from Brian Eno. Features a 2014 DSD remastering from the original UK master tapes pressed on the hi-res SHM-SACD format with a bonus track, obi strip and booklet.

Series: SACD Hi-res DSD Audio

ⓘ SHM-SACD - manufactured using a high quality polycarbonate plastic with improved transparency allowing for more accurate reading of the data. SHM-SACDs have the same compatibility as SACDs.

ⓘ Super Audio CD (SACD) is an optical disc format which provides a higher bit rate than a conventional CD, with improved clarity and dynamic range. Increased storage allows audio to be encoded in multichannel surround, although not all discs offer this feature. There are two types of SACD:

  1. An SACD disc with one or more Direct Stream Digital (DSD) layers, designed to play on an SACD player only

  2. A hybrid SACD containing an additional Compact Disc Digital Audio (CDDA) layer that can be played on any standard CD player

This SACD does not include a conventional CDDA layer and can only be played on an SACD compatible player.
